There are many different causes of hearing impairment. There are various causes of hearing impairment for each of the different types of it. However, some of the most common causes include age, genetics, congenital disabilities, loud noise, and a severe allergic reaction to certain types of drugs. Sensorineural Hearing Loss

They include injury, getting older, too much exposure to loud noise, infections such as mumps and measles, Ototoxic drugs can cause hearing damage, shingles, diabetes, meningitis, a high fever or a rise in your body temperature, stroke, heredity, smoking, high blood pressure, obesity, acoustic tumors, and Meniere’s disease. Meniere’s disease is a problem with your inner ear, which can affect your hearing.

Conductive Hearing Loss

Obstructions cause conductive hearing loss in the ear. The most common causes of hearing impairment such as this one include a buildup of pus and mucus that happen when you have an infection in your ear canal or your middle ear, scarring or perforation of your eardrum, an increase of wax, so try to clean your ears out often, your middle ear bones get dislocated, if there is something in your ear that shouldn’t be, an abnormal growth of the bone in the middle ear, and not so normal growth or tumor.

There is at least 20 percent of American’s who suffer from some form of hearing loss. Because of this, it would be wise for them to get a hearing screening.

There are about two or three people who can have a short lifespan because of hearing impairment.

What is weird is that these people with hearing loss say they experience a decline in their cognitive abilities.

If the music or TV is too loud, whether you are at home or in the office, turn it down or wear hearing protection. Turn your phone, TV, or iPad or iPod down to prevent hearing impairment. Try not to turn your car radio up to avoid hearing loss. You can also try wearing custom made earplugs if you need to.

What is most shocking is that at least 15 percent of young kids can lose their hearing.

Experts have made a predicament; by the year 2020, there will be over 900 million people that will have some hearing impairment.

It is also estimated that about 15 percent of kids who are old enough to go to school, may suffer from your loss.

About two or three out of 1,000, kids end up with a hearing loss in one or both ears.
