It’s hard to stay cool, especially if you in live in a place that stays really hot all year round. Our bodies do the best they can but it’s not always easy, especially if you suffer from hyperhidrosis or constant sweating. If you suffer from sweating constantly and or other related problems, it can really make life difficult, especially in social situations. Hyperhidrosis has age or gender and it can affect all adults at all age ranges. Millions of Americans have sweating issues worse than the average individual and it can be hard to imagine that there is a cure out there. Fortunately, over the past half-century, several remedies have been developed to help people combat this problem. Iontophoresis is one such solution, among others. For how trivial it might seem, heavy sweating affects the lives of millions of people and it isn’t easy to deal with, even with modern developments. Here are a few ways that might help.
Iontophoresis
Iontophoresis sounds likea big scary procedure but it’s really not. In fact, it’s one of the easiest and fastest ways to deal with heavy sweating. It works by delivering a mild current of electricity to whatever body part is necessary, usually when completely surrounded by water. After a few procedures, this begins to reduce the amount of sweat produced by the body part to relatively normal levels. How long it takes, exactly, is dependent on the qualities of the body and the person in general. Everyone is different and so every body reacts differently to different parts of the procedure. For one person it might take only a few days but for other people it might take a week or more. Regardless, over time, it will begin to take effect and start to affect the sheer amount of sweat produced by the sweat glands. The entire process is stress free, painless and definitely worth looking into for anyone who has suffered the social stigma and embarrassment that comes with excessive sweating.
Other Methods
While Iontophoresis is one easy way to deal with excessive sweating, there are other methods as well. These tend to be a little less direct and take more time than Iontophoresis but they are worth looking into for anyone who doesn’t have the time or can’t afford the procedure. Hydration, in fact, while seemingly counter intuitive, is one way to cool the body and produce less sweat. It helps cool the body and cut the heavy sweating that comes from serious overheating. Heavy sweating can also be curbed somewhat by the type of clothing you wear and the types of foods you eat. In hotter weather, try wearing looser clothing that doesn’t restrict the body. This makes movement easier and keeps the body cool where it might be hot otherwise. Wearing lighter clothing can help as well, switching out whites for blacks and greens or yellows for blues and purples. Darker colors absorb more light and can head to heavy sweating as well.
Foods and drinks
Different sorts of foods can lead to heavy sweating as well. Spicy foods, obviously, lead to heavy sweating and can contribute to gastrointestinal distress. Not a good combination in hot weather, especially in large quantities. Foods with heavy sauce or lots of meat can also overheat the body as they take much longer to break down. Salads and fruits are healthier for the body and are also much easier on the GI tract as they break down. It doesn’t need to be only leafy greens and vegetables, though. For those worried about taste, lighter dressings and fruit can be added to salad so that it stays easy on the body and still has some flavor. The dietary method is certainly less direct than Iontophoresis and using an Iontophoresis unit but it can definitely help, especially when combined with changing what you wear and how you eat. We live in a clean world and it can be hard for our bodies to keep up. It takes some effort to help our bodies fit into society as we’ve built it and utilizing technologies can help us get there.
