In order to have a healthy and fun fall season and to limit your trip to the doctor and urgent care centers , follow these tips.

1. Get your pumpkin fix

Pumpkin is a great vegetable, chocked full of vitamins A and C. They can help to reduce cholesterol and boost your immune system. An easy way to enjoy this vegetable is making a pumpkin puree spread for sandwiches, or to snack on your roasted pumpkin seeds from that jack o’ lantern you carved a few days ago.

2. Don’t forget your flu shot

The flu likes to run rampant during this time of year, so in order to prevent spending a week away from the beautiful changing colors outside while on your couch, head to your nearest pharmacy for the flu shot. You won’t regret it!

Hydrating with a lot of water during the day is one of the best ways to fight against the common cold. This also goes with the foods that you eat, so stock up on probiotic filled yogurts, fruit, and nuts for some protein. After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

4. Get outside

Breathing in the crisp fall air is one of the easiest ways to feel more refreshed and alert. Get off social media, and get outside! An easy walk a day will do wonders for your vitamin d levels, your mood, and can even help keep your weight on track.
