Urgent care centers are rapidly spreading across the United States, with as many as 75% of facilities found in suburban areas and another 10% found in rural areas. The reason for this growth is due to the many benefits urgent care clinics offer their patients: to name just a few, urgent care center visits are 40 to 50% less expensive than a typical trip to the emergency room, can be covered with health insurance plans, and are often completed in an hour or less.
